Google Translate App Gets AI-Powered Offline Mode on Android, iOS !!

The giant technology company now offers offline feature, and will run in Google Translate directly on Android and iOS devices. This update comes in the wake of a competition from Microsoft Announces an offline translator based on AI for your smartphones.

The new feature in Google Translate uses the same automated translation technology used by Google for online translation. However, the language pack is stored this time in files between 35 MB and 45 MB, so it does not consume much space on your phone. According to Google Translation Product Manager Julie Katiao, this technique adopts a rigorous approach by using artificial intelligence to take a whole sentence into context rather than translating each piece, making translations better.

"It uses a wider context to help determine the most appropriate translation, which then rearranges and adapts it to a sound like a real person speaking the right rules," says Cattiau in a blog post. "This makes paragraphs and translated articles more smooth and easy to read."
