Most Awaited Nokia 3310 4G with ‘YunOS’ launched in China

NEW DELHI: HMD Global last year made a mark in the smartphone industry by launch as many as six smartphones but its feature phone, the refreshed Nokia 3310 caught the attention of many. Some fans requested the handset to come with 4G support but the handset maker did not reveal anything concrete about it. Now, we see the Nokia 3310 4G quietly being listed on the company's China website.

As the name suggests, the feature phone supports 4G TD-LTE (TDD B38 / 41, 39, 40) connectivity in addition to 2G and 3G, which was the only network supported by the last year's 3310. The device is said to be made available from offline retailers in the country by early February. There is no word if it will arrive in India or any other countries.

"With 4G TD-LTE connectivity, the Nokia 3310 4G features VoLTE HD voice. You can turn the Nokia 3310 4G into a portable WiFi hotspot and share your internet connection with other devices, friends and family," says the website.

Look-wise, the Nokia 3310 4G appears the same as the regular 2017 version. Available in Fresh Blue and Deep Black colour variants, the specifications of the device too remain the same. The feature phone runs YunOS, unlike the 2017 model that was launched running Series 30+ OS. The 3G model sported Java-powered feature OS.

It has a 2.4-inch QVGA (320x240 pixels) display alongside a 2MP rear camera with LED flash. Users get a minimum of 256MB storage space, which can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card.

The feature phone is powered by a 1200mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 5 hours of talk time on 4G connectivity. Measuring 117 x 52.4 x 13.35mm, the Nokia 3310 4G weighs 88.1 grams. Also supported are Bluetooth v4.0, Micro USB port, FM Radio and Wi-Fi.
